MoH Announces 5th Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign to Frontline Officials and Priority Target Group

Phnom Penh: Cambodia Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued a press release on the 5th dose of Covid-19 vaccination campaign to frontline officials and priority target groups which will start from 9 June 2022 to the leaders of the Royal Government, Senate, National Assembly, civil servants, and officials, contracted officers who have already been vaccinated with the fourth dose of Covid-19 have a gap of at least three months after the fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the venue, dates and times set by the MoH. 

The announcement was made just hours on Friday, May 20, after a message from PM Hun Sen on the decision to allow the Vaccination Committee to begin the fifth dose.

Spokesperson and Secretary of State for MoH, Ms. Or Vandine said that Calmette Hospital is for vaccinating government leaders, senators, parliamentary leaders and members of parliament, Deputy Prime Minister, Senior Minister, Minister, and Secretary of State or have equal status. Ang Duong Hospital for Undersecretaries of State, Director-General, Deputy Director-General or equivalent and have been vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine, the fourth dose or boost dose, with a gap of at least 3 months.

Vandine said, the fifth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be given to the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the army at the national level, families, soldiers, and veterans across the country who have already been vaccinated against Covid-19, the gap of at least 3 months after the 4th dose vaccination will be scheduled for the 5th dose of Covid-19 vaccine by the Subcommittee on Covid-19 Vaccination, Ministry of National Defense, where the Ministry of National Defense will issue information on the location and time of this vaccine to the public.

The spokesperson also said that the fifth dose of Covid-19 vaccine by the capital-provincial administration to front-line health officials (both public and private) and civil servants, contracted officers to local authorities, and citizens, vaccines will be administered by the Capital-Provincial Administration at the age of 60 and people with a weakened immune system at the age of 12 who will be vaccinated in the fifth dose.

For front-line health officials (both public and private) and civil servants, contracted officers, local authorities, authorities, and people over the age of 60 who have already been vaccinated with the fourth dose of Covid-19, there is a gap of at least three months go to get the 5th dose of Covid-19 vaccine from 9 June 2022, under the management of the 25 capital-provincial administrations.

People with weakened immune systems, 12 years old and older will start the 5th dose on 20 June 2022, under the management of the 25 capital-provincial administrations. Each Capital-Province Administration will also provide information on the date and location of the 5th dose to the public.

Target group as mentioned above, to be vaccinated against Covid-19, the 5th dose must be accompanied by documents including a Covid-19 vaccination card, ID card of government officials or contracted officials (for civil servants or officials Contracted with a Cambodian identity card or documents used to register for the first dose of vaccination).
